Recertification fees are due annually on June 30.

Outline related activities
To maintain your qualifications you must stay engaged with Fitness Alberta-AFLCA activities, such as:
- teaching specialty courses
- completing practical assessments
- volunteering with Fitness Alberta projects
- writing a CEC article
- developing a short course for online delivery

Conference Attendance
To recertify you must attend either Fit Rendezvous or the Perspectives in Exercise Health & Fitness conference once every 2 years. You can check your CECs for your current renewal in your member profile.
The upcoming period for this requirement is from June 30, 2024 - June 30, 2026. This includes:
- Perspectives 2024
- Fit Rendezvous 2025
- Fit Rendezvous 2026

Professional conduct agreement
You must sign and adhere to the professional conduct agreement.

Late Recertification policy
In the event you are unable able to complete your recertification on or before the expiry date, late registration may be accepted under the following conditions:
- Expired up to 30 days – No late fee, however insurance coverage will not begin until documents are verified as complete and processed. This date will be reflected on your insurance certificate.
- Expired 2 to 6 months – $50 late fee required (in addition to recertification fee).
- Expired longer than six months to 1 year - $100 late fee (in addition to recertification fee.)
- Expired longer than 1 year – challenge applicable exams, complete a practical assessment and other certification requirements.
