ERIN POST
Biography
Wow! 15 years in the fitness industry. I've seen a lot of changes and fads come and go: We went from pelvic tilt (tucking it in) on ab work to neutral spine, Protein Power to Atkins to South Beach to Paleo diet trends, Tae Bo to Tabata, and I even knew life before Zumba...
_*What kinds of classes have you taught?*_
Step, Zumba, cycle, bootcamp, aerobic kickboxing, intervals, circuits, hi-lo, strength training, core and stretch, along with a few Fusion and stroller fitness classes. I like to blend several different styles together too!
Presently, I'm completing my aquatic fitness certification, a goal of mine for close to a decade!
In the past, I've done one-on-one training, also called personal training. Generally, I train only those who specifically ask me. With many interests in life, I find I need to focus on one area in fitness, and that is group exercise.
_*What are your classes like?*_
Whether it's step, Zumba, cycle, bootcamp or any style, I believe there is a little something for everyone. If you're not sure what you might enjoy, contact me, and I will help you decide what to try!
My goal: to offer a safe, inviting, fun class for everyone - beginner or advanced. I don't need to be known as the toughest, most insane instructor out there. In fact, I'd rather not be. Sometimes, it's there that injuries can happen - and if you're injured, I certainly won't see you in my class or any other.
In class, you usually don't see me yell or behave like the Tazmanian Devil (at least not on your first day!), but you will hear me trying to motivate and encourage you!
_*About me...*_
Eight years ago, I was injured in two car accidents only five months apart - and no, not because I'm a bad driver! I've struggled through disappointment by the change in my physical capabilities and battling ongoing pain and muscle issues. But, you know what?! I still exercise, and it keeps me sane!
There was a time when I thought instructing was my past and it was time to move on. But, I still love to teach. Why am I telling you this? To help you realize that instructors are not perfect either. Guess what, I have trouble getting up for a 6 am class too, but I know you're going to be there. We all keep each other going! I'd love to hear your story and your struggles, but also celebrate your triumphs with you! Let's push ourselves together.
_*With the AFLCA...*_
As an Assistant Trainer with the AFLCA, I participate in instructor education and mentorship. When an instructor needs to have an observation done on their class to recertify, I assess the class and give them feedback. It's great to see an instructor develop their own style and add to their toolbox of skills. The learning never really stops!
Now that you've met me, I'd like to meet you! Please contact me or feel free to drop by at one of my classes!
Warmly,
Erin
